We were thrilled to find out we’ve received some funding from the Meridian Energy Waitaki Community power up fund. To assist with funding some resources for the two community garden sites in Duntroon.
We’re building some new beds in the tunnel house and new compost bins similar to the stacking one in the photos. And getting a new wheel barrow for the school garden. Despite today being close to the shortest day of the year and in a frost prone area we’re still managing to grow veggies and regularly supply fruit and veggies to the community share shed.

lol so a few of this chap’s 2.5million followers got a wee peek inside the old gaol, the share shed in Duntroon as well as spilling the beans on our awesome The Flying Pig Duntroon today. What he said is so true we are about community in the valley.
Thankyou to our community who keep little projects like the wetland and native planting areas along the Waitaki valley length of the Alps2ocean Cycle Trail and the historic buildings like the Gaol and Nicol's Blacksmith as well as the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark.
Our own DDDA members do SO much behind the scenes here in Duntroon as do the other business owners.

If anyone has any spare glass jars with lids we have a supporter of the share shed needing them for preserves

Wednesday lunchtime.
Potatoes, red cabbage, pears, apples (great cooking variety ) and gorgeous flowers
Thanks so much for the donations of fruit/veggies and flowers. They are very much appreciated by the recipients, its been lovely meeting people while I’m delivering who stop to chat
We need more bags please.
Bagging up the spuds is using them up faster than we’re getting the bags.

We’re back! After a holiday last week there’s been loads to harvest from all the garden plots we grow in.
On offer in shed as of Tuesday pm
Cabbage, potatoes, cauliflower, zucchini, marrow 🤣🫣, cucumber, broccoli, onions,silver beet and rhubarb.
And there’s still some donated apples there.
Many thanks for the bags, they’re always useful so keep collecting and bringing to the shed.
I’m also making some sauces so if anyone has small bottles with lids,
eg maple syrup or small barkers ones.
