This year's 2025 Baylis Lecture given by Dr Rob Smissen and Dr Ilse Breitwieser reviews research findings on the taxonomy and evolution of Craspedia in New Zealand. While much work remains, extensive morphological studies of the plants in the field, in cultivation, and in the herbarium, - combined with new genetic markers - are helping to refine its classification and provide deeper insight into how Craspedia diversity has evolved.
