We are now only around 4 weeks away from celebrating 100+ years of cricket at the North East Valley Cricket Club….it’s starting to get REAL

For those of you attending, the following are some things that you need to know (not everything, but just a sample size)

Centenary B**r – we will have 100 beers on sale to celebrate this event

Fish & Chips on Friday night – a throwback to the days in the 1970’s & 80’s where the great Ken Rigby used to drop off parcels of F&C’s for the players after cricket on Saturday’s

MC for the weekend – John”Reggie” Lovett will entertain us all. “Reggie” was an iconic entertainer at the club during the 80’s with microphone in hand

Clothing merchandise for sale – these include a special club polo shirt, ties and caps

Keg surfing competition – this has been discussed, but needs to be signed off by the health & safety committee in the first instance

Live music on Saturday night – all the rave at the local Dunedin nightclubs during the 80’s & 90’s, Sidewalk Sally will be entertaining us

Food trucks at the University Oval – both Citizens & Errols Kitchens will be in attendance to feed us all on the Saturday

Centenary photographs – these will be taken outside the Longroom, also on the Saturday

Game of the “Centenary” – set down for the Sunday, along with a continuous BBQ

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain valuable hands-on experience with a community sports organisation. You'll have the opportunity to shape the club's online presence, tell the stories of our players and volunteers, and help grow engagement across our cricket community.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for… the RU Cricket NZ bat raffle is here. Congratulations to our winner Sam Wilson!

Over the last month, we have seen 442 entries and just shy of $9,000 dollars raised towards Will’s recovery. The way that the community has rallied together is genuinely heartwarming and highlights the fantastic people we have around our great club and the wider cricketing community. One last time, we thank everyone that has taken the opportunity to donate towards this cause.

Greetings to all former/current players, members and supporters of North East Valley Cricket Club.

As we hit the mid-point of Winter, we are now less than 100 days away from the much anticipated Centenary.

Centenary Registrations
As there are literally hundreds of people that have represented the club over the years, we would like your help in reaching as many of our past & present players as possible. Please tag them in this post, invite them to our pages, or send them a quick message or email (including link below) to make sure they are aware of this momentous celebration for our mighty club.

Currently we have 70 odd registered, so momentum is starting to build. Please bear in mind that capacity at both the Rigby Lounge and the Otago Cricket Longroom is around the 180-200 mark. New Zealand Representatives
Both Stephen Boock & Mark Richardson have registered, so a shout out to the likes of Lance Cairns, Bruce Blair, Neil Broom, Jimmy Neesham, Michael Rae, Matthew Fisher and Anaru Kitchen (have we missed anyone), as we would like to acknowledge their achievements at some stage of the weekend.

Live Music on Saturday night
Sidewalk Sally will be entertaining us in the Longroom on Saturday evening. For those that can remember, this was an iconic band that played at the likes of Regines & Sammys during the 80’s & 90’s.

Golf on Friday
While not part of the official events, Jamie Murley is looking to organise a casual game of golf on the Friday. If you are keen to take part, then please contact Jamie directly on 021 571 045.
