Greetings to all former/current players, members and supporters of North East Valley Cricket Club.
We are pleased to announce our overdue Centenary will take place during the upcoming Labour Weekend - October 23rd-25th 2026.
The NEVCC was formed in 1921 and many of you will have fond memories of our rollicking 75th get-together in February 1996 at the Rigby Lounge, then at Carisbrook. In that very season our senior team went on to win the Bing Harris Shield as senior champions.
The upcoming Centenary will be similar to that of 1996 - gathering at the Rigby Lounge on Friday evening, a slightly more organised event at Otago Cricket's Long Room on Saturday evening, and then the traditional BBQ and games of cricket on Sunday at the Gardens ground.
We have an extensive database of current and former players, but please spread the word amongst your contemporaries so no one is unaware of the looming festivities.
The club is in great heart currently with 5 active teams, and our Premier/Senior lads have just won the "Bing" for the 3rd time in the last 4 years. Also at our recent AGM - Stephen Boock, Tim Dunn, Wayne Mason, Jerram Bateman and Glen Cawood joined Bryan Johnston as Life Members. They look forward to catching up with you all in October.
