🇫🇯 INTRODUCING THE NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 🇫🇯

Dunedin Fijian Community Incorporated

With great pride and excitement, we introduce the newly elected Executive Committee of the Dunedin Fijian Community Incorporated! 🎉👏

We congratulate all elected members and look forward to the journey ahead as we continue to strengthen our community, preserve our Fijian culture and traditions, and build a stronger future for our families and the next generation here in Dunedin.

Leadership is not just about holding a position; it is about serving with humility, unity, integrity, and a heart for our people. ❤️💙🤍

As we begin this new chapter, may we continue to work together in the spirit of Veikauwaitaki (caring for one another), supporting one another and keeping our Fijian community strong, connected, and united.

To our new Executive Committee, we wish you all the very best in your leadership and service. May God guide you, bless your decisions, and give you the wisdom and strength to serve our community faithfully. 🙏

One Community. One Family. One Vision.

“KESAKESA”

A special day of learning, culture and connection for our community kids! The children were introduced to “Kesakesa” — the traditional Fijian practice of Masi (Tapa) printing, learning about the cultural significance and creativity behind this beautiful art form. The session was led by our Community President, Eric Nabalagi, who shared his knowledge and helped the children connect with an important part of our Fijian heritage.

The children also had the opportunity to take what they had been learning beyond the classroom, performing at the University of Otago Business School and sharing Fijian songs and culture with students and faculty.
A big Vinaka vakalevu to Dr Jekope Maiono and the Business School Department for opening up their space and providing an opportunity for our children to share and celebrate our culture within the wider community.

The children then toured around the University of Otago campus, singing Fijian songs and proudly sharing a little piece of home with those they met along the way!

Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who contributed to making this a meaningful day of cultural learning, connection and sharing — investing in our children and keeping our culture alive in Aotearoa💙
