Otago Yacht Club

Otago Yacht Club The Otago Yacht Club, founded in 1869, runs racing for keelboats, trailer yachts, and dinghies, plus a Sunday Sailing School for ages 10+.

Facilities include a slipway, clubhouse, trailer park, and moorings. New members and visiting sailors welcome!

Tuesday night social sailing got underway this evening. Three yachts and 11 club members headed out in a good breeze and had a very enjoyable sail.

Social sailing runs every Tuesday evening from 5:30pm during daylight saving. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own yacht out, or just turn up at the club if you'd like to crew.

What a start to the 2026 summer sailing season! ⛵

13 boats came out for our Opening Day Race on Saturday. The breeze stayed steady all afternoon, so the whole fleet got around the full course. It was great to see three keelboats in the mix, and boats with their spinnakers flying.

A big thank you to everyone who helped run the racing, the start and finish, and everything behind the scenes. And thanks to all the sailors who came along. It was great to see the club so busy.

We're looking forward to seeing even more boats on the water this summer!
