Today is White Ribbon day! To show your support wear a white ribbon and stand up to violence.

You can visit us at the First Church today between 10:30am and 12:30pm to tie a ribbon to the fence in support of the campaign.
We will have plenty of FREE wearable cloth white ribbons to give away.

The White Ribbon Campaign started in Canada and made its way to Aotearoa/New Zealand in 2004 (20 years ago).

"White Ribbon Day celebrates the many men willing to show leadership and commitment to promoting safe, healthy relationships within families and encourages men to challenge each other on attitudes and behaviour that are abusive."
https://whiteribbon.org.nz/about/

We as a collaboration stand strongly with this campaign and its aim to eliminate violence towards women.

Building on from this campaign...
We acknowledge that violence does not discriminate and can happen to anyone. We stand together with the shared goal of a violence free community, and safety for all.
