HI all Kittyhawk Executive.....& Tournament Winners,

We settle into normal life again after a busy time organising the very successful Kittyhawk OXF event last Sunday.

WE are indebted to everyone who helped & to everyone who competed and through combined efforts we are likely to raise in excess of $10,000 for the day which will be donated to Camp Quality - South who assist children living with cancer. Funds from the event have been requested to go towards annual camp costs of up to $40,000 for the 35 children, medical staff & minders...nearly 100 all up.

It was a great day for sure and we feel we have developed something special in the South so we are driven to keep doing it. However If anyone is willing to help in some way please get in touch with me or any of the Executive as we are getting older and we are in desparate need of getting some younger helpers who will have fresh ideas.

I have completed a Review Summary of the days proceedings and attach it here FYI.

Special thanks to all,

Kind Regards,
Ken Walker ph 4896256

2022 CHARITY OPTIONAL MIXED FOURS, Sunday, 6/11/22, commencing @9.30am OVERVIEW
Well done to all Kittyhawkers who contributed towards making this event one of the best yet.
44 teams entered using Fairfield & Taieri’s McDonald & Wilkins greens A great day weatherwise , a good dry cloudy day which developed into a warm afternoon. The greens at Taieri were a little quicker so the last game finished close to 4.30pm . 30 minutes after the [approx.] scheduled finish .
Socialising, then Lachie McLachlan ‘s Auction commenced just after 5.00 There were an incredible amount of prizes on offer and everyone shared in a great day. There were 11 Tournament prizes, 12 Toucher prizes[L, 2nd, 3rd,Skip green] 10 Auction Lots & 3 side Raffles.
Camp Quality staff were on hand throughout the day & Kevin Seales , Regional Manager & wife Kelly reported fantastic raffles sales of $1600 all up.
Taieri is by far the best HQ as we hosted 176 players plus others which took the total to 200…..I don’t believe any other bowling club could cater for that many. The Taieri kitchen [Jan Barclay] worked really well and there was no problems with the bar. [Ray Williams] I cleaned up the club and departed at 8.00pm Microphone issues were unfortunate as the bar speakers had inadvertently been turned off .
This year particularly we were supported by incredible sponsors and certainly the following stood out; but many other sponsors were advised at all greens.
• Obviously naming rights sponsor Calder Stewart
• Pak’n Save….Scratchies…., 50 x $50 Boards This may be the final time as it was a personal sponsorship
• Tuapeka Gold Print…..Mike received an amazing range of 36 separate items
• Bedpost/Anytime Fitness…. Auction Hamper, $200 Voucher, wine & Voucher & Touchers 3 bottles of Port .
• Kaans Catering…..Huge amount of Veges…12 bags as Tournament prizes & 30 Kg of Fries
Music at Taieri was provided by Mark Vial and this unquestionably added to the atmosphere….he is very good at his job.
We had spiders at the 3 greens for a bottle of wine….. & in all we had 26 prizes so a lot of players took home something. It was certainly the best day we have had and we have definitely developed something special for a fantastic charity….LETS KEEP IT GOING!!!

RECOMMENDATIONS..
I have several recommendations which I will leave til our next meeting.
However I will forward this review to the Executive and might even forward it to the Winners and thank them for their support & also to the ODT.
It was a great day…..a long one for some, but a very rewarding one for sure. I believe the Kittyhawk Executive did us proud…well done to all
I would like to think we can donate over $10,000 from the days fundraising. This will help immensely to assist Camp Quality in providing the 35 disadvantaged children , their medical staff & minders with a fantastic successful Queenstown annual camp.
