Students for Environmental Action - SEA Ōtepoti

Students for Environmental Action - SEA Ōtepoti This is the public page for Students for Environmental Action (SEA). We are the primary environmental activist group on the Otago University Campus! All welcome!

The club aims to offer everyone a chance to reduce our collective impact on Earth by learning from workshops such as the working bees, sharing knowledge during social events (potlucks, movie nights, pot-plant sales…) and taking action when needed (School4Strike, clothes swaps…). SEA also works closely with other groups such as Slow Food Movement, the Otago University Tramping Club, ResAwesome, Sti

tch Kitchen and Resilient Dunedin which offer plenty of volunteering opportunities as well as being the perfect gateway to the wider susty community. We also run the Student Garden - a community garden for students (and non-students) where we compost and grow veggies. You can come anytime you want to drop off food scraps to the compost, or join our weekly garden bees, every Sunday from 1 pm onwards to meet people, learn and share harvests. The student Garden is located on the corner of Forth and Dundas Street. No gardening experience needed. Always eager to hear new ideas from you or answer any questions you might have, don’t hesitate to reach out! With COVID spreading all over New Zealand and Club’s day being canceled, the best way to be kept in the loop is to follow us on Facebook or Instagram sea_otepoti

Have you seen this new feature around our campus? 🐟⁉️

The University of Otago, through the Sustainability Office, has adopted a drain of its own, taking on the responsibility of keeping it clean so that no contaminants get into the Leith River from the stormwater 🦆🌊

The first 5 people to send us a selfie with this fish will get a prize... get snapping! 🏆📸😁
