Our Street Appeal in Wānaka is shaping up with 4 locations. Thank you to these businesses for allowing collectors to stand in front of your office or store. There are great prizes this year and all funds raised will be used to support people impacted by brain injury.
BIA Liaison Officer, Nathan, will be in Wānaka the day of the street appeal so say "hi". Nathan spends 2 full days per month in Central Otago.

There is one week left of Wills Month in NZ. September is the time to think about your final wishes and get them down on paper. Or, if you have a will, you may want to revise it as your circumstances change.

BIA has recently partnered with EveryWill — a free online will-writing platform — to make the process as simple as possible for our supporters. Through this partnership, you can now write a will from home, in around 10 minutes, at no cost.

If you would like to include a gift to BIA, you can do so in just a few clicks. Every dollar of every gift goes directly towards supporting people impacted by brain injury.

This partnership is available to all BIA members, clients and friends, regardless of whether you include a gift in your will or not. Everywill is 100% free even if you don't leave a gift.

We cannot thank ONSA and APSA enough for organising a great big quiz night at The Bog! The event raised $1,055 for BIA.💝 We appreciate all the work that went into planning the event and thank all the students who came to The Bog. ✨
The quiz was won by Brain Injury Otago thanks to our Liaison Officer, Nathan Pettigrew 👏and his vast well of knowledge.

It's officially street appeal season at BIA and we are thrilled to announce 4 collection sites in Dunedin...with more to come!
We are very grateful to Columba College for looking after the Rhubarb Roslyn site and to Otago Girls for collecting at Woolworths Dunedin Central.
We know it is a busy time of year for high school students so thank you. Both schools have supported the BIA street appeal for many years.

The Annual General Meeting was held on a very stormy August 31st at Community House in Dunedin.

We are pleased to let our clients, members and supporters know that the 2026-2027 Brain Injury Association Board is made up of these committee members who stood again: Ruth Barnett, Stephanie Hughes, Ivan Sammut, Krystal Browne & Andrea McMillan.

We are thrilled to welcome the following new committee members to the BIA Board: Mary Butler, Jacintha Francis, Emma Deeney!!

Cathy Matthews and Maree Penese have stepped down from the BIA Board and we thank them for the years of personal time they have given to the organisation.

The Board is honoured to gift Cathy and Maree both Life Membership to The Brain Injury Association.
