Otago Embroiderers’ Guild Our Guild is made up of a diverse, creative and inspirational group of people! Join us! There is a weekly group workshop on a Thursday morning.

The Guild has a monthly meeting, held at Leith Bowling Club, 2 Duke Street, Woodhaugh, Dunedin. Evening meetings are held on the fourth Thursday in the following months: Jan, Feb, March, April, Sept, Oct, Nov. Day meetings are held each fourth Saturday in the following months: May, June, July, August. Workshop is an informal stitch group open to all Guild members, held each Thursday morning 9.30 –

11.45am at the Senior Citizens Rooms Lower Octagon. Cost $1 for tea/coffee. This Thursday group is quite informal but provides great support for all abilities of people who wish to stitch. There is also a project group which meets on the second Thursday evening of each month, at 7pm at the Mornington Presbyterian Church. All members strive to keep the art of stitch alive through learning and passing on their knowledge to other members. If you have the need to learn more about our Guild or wish to join us stitching, do not hesitate to contact us. We always welcome new members. In 2021 we formed the Ōtepoti Dunedin Embroidery School (ODES). Throughout the year the Otago Embroiderers’ Guild has organised six classes spread over several weekends.

Just a reminder to everyone there’s Guild tonight we will be warm and dry inside with a cup of tea and we have a guest speaker Ross Mackay who is going to talk to us about the Steampunk clothes he makes .

Happy New Year, everyone
Our first meeting for the year is on Wednesday 22 January, a night meeting starting at 7:00pm For any one new to this FB page, our meetings are at the Leith Valley Bowling Club. We’re starting the year off with Christmas decorations. You bring your own if you have started one The Committee will have a few kits of one or two different decorations, for anyone that hasn’t got one to do. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
