1st Devonport Scout Group is possibly the oldest Scout Group in New Zealand, having been established in 1908 in the very earliest days of the global Scouting movement. This public page is here to help you make contact with us.
For an overview of Scouting in New Zealand today, check out our national website https://scouts.nz/
Devonport Peninsula is 1st Devonport's normal catchment area. If you live locally and you'd like your youth to come along for a trial to see whether Scouting is for them, go to our page on the national website at https://scouts.nz/groups/1st-devonport-scout-group/ to register your interest. Take care to select the correct section to apply to, according to age (5.5-8 Keas, 8-11 Cubs, 11-14 Scouts, 14-18 Venturers). One of our Leaders will get back to you in due course.
We are also very keen to attract new adult volunteers in various capacities, but primarily as Leaders. You don't have to have a child in our Group to be a valuable contributor to our success! Email the Group Leader at [email protected] to find out more.
Across our five youth sections members will have fun and adventure, challenge themselves, learn leadership skills and gain self-confidence.
