OHOATA- The 3rd night of the lunar month. Get up and get moving 🌘🌟💪

TINANA- Get your mahi done early so you don't procrastinate later on ⏰️👩‍🌾🏋

HINENGARO- Rise and awaken early, use this momentum to get your mahi done 🌌🤹‍♀️

WAIRUA- The first bit of light we see in the marama, take that light and do something positive with it. 🧘‍♀️📚🦋

TAIAO- An ideal time for any maara projects with seedlings 🌱 🪺🪴

We spent a wonderful morning at the maara with Aranga School tamariki and whānau, and Donnellys Crossing Community Group reps. Building our maara community networks and collective knowledge through sharing, experimenting, creativity, culture and reciprocity.

🌿 This whakatauki emphasises that careful preparation, effort, and creating a strong foundation are crucial for future success.

🌿 As we prepare as a community to hunker down for the weekend we encourage our whānau to plan ahead now for what may be a damaging and significant cyclone.

🌿 Each time we've faced an adverse event we've worked hard to become more prepared, more resourced, more coordinated and more resilient.

🌿 Community hui held this morning to connect and discuss our capacity and capability, and to confirm our community's plans for preparation, response and recovery.

💐 Learning is a journey that starts with curiosity, leading to discovery, knowledge, and eventually wisdom.

💐 Our maara continues to be a space for learning, discovering, development and growth.

💐 Such great vibes today while we had a full reset of the raised beds, seed saving, restocking, fertilizing, pruning and feeding of the fruit trees and planting of several new trees.

💐 We had a good korero about ideas and planning going forward and what the maara has taught us in the last few seasons.

💐 Sustainability, Kaitiakitanga, Preparedness, Whanaungatanga, Independence, Balance, Self determination, Hauora and Manaakitanga are key to maintaining our momentum and motivation.
