HEY TEAM

This term we’re mixing things up — and focusing on connection, with God and with each other

We’ll meet fortnightly for Just Teens Sundays— in our own space to hang, chat, and go deep.
Then once a month, we’ll team up for social outings, fun get-togethers, or join in our bigger church events together!

And guess what? This month’s big one is FOR THIS CITY on 23 October at La Vida!

Come along, bring a mate, and let’s have the best time! Can’t wait to see you there

What we learnt in Just Teens this Week

STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR SOURCE

Cut off from God = Cut off from our life source

True life, strength, and purpose come only from remaining connected to God through the Holy Spirit.

Relying on temporary things like achievements, relationships, or social media for fulfillment leaves us spiritually drained, but abiding in God sustains us.

The Necessity of the Source:
Just as a phone dies without a charger or a branch withers without a tree, our spiritual life drains when disconnected from God (John 15:5).

The Trap of Substitutes:
Good things like grades, sports, and friendships are meant to be the fruit of a healthy life, not the root. Relying on them for self-worth leads to loneliness, burnout, and empty "broken cisterns" (Jeremiah 2:13).

The Work of the Spirit:
The Holy Spirit provides the breath, peace, strength, and love needed to truly thrive rather than just survive.

Practical Steps to Stay Connected
Daily Prayer:
Talk to God consistently throughout the day, not just at church.

Engage with Scripture:
Read the Bible daily as spiritual nourishment.

Depend on the Holy Spirit:
Invite Him every morning to lead and provide strength.

Remain in Community:
Stay connected with other believers for support.

Turn Back Quickly:
Turn to God and reconnect whenever you realize you've drifted.

Weekly Challenge
For the next seven days, begin each morning with a simple prayer acknowledging the Holy Spirit as your source and asking Him to guide your day.

What an awesome night tonight!
We had so much fun with an awesome bunch of youth.

Our night was based on Ephesians 6:10-18, the Armor of God.

Stay Equipped!

Ephesians 6: 10-18 (NIV)

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty
power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can
take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that
when the day of evil comes, you may be able to
stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled
around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness
that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of
faith, with which you can extinguish all the
flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind,
be alert and always keep on praying for all the
Lord’s people.

Hello! Hope everyone is keeping well. Looking foward to seeing everyone tonight at 7pm in the DLC auditorium!
