Please share and start talking to anyone you know with Fi****ms licences, interest in using fi****ms or training before applying for their licence. This bill is the clarification of laws we have all been lobbying for and trying to get across the line. There is much you can comment on in a submission from your own point of view so please take the time to submit on this once in a lifetime opportunity to get law put in place that is understandable, reasonable and effective in making sure the public is kept safe and you can continue in your sport. Anyone with questions or that wants to get some one on one time to discuss parts of this or needs assistance with writing a submission please get in touch. Lets make 2026 a watershed year for fi****ms law in New Zealand.

The COLFO Arms Bill Consultation Guide is now available. This is designed for the everyday hunter and shooter in mind to help you craft a comprehensive submission. Just copy the text, add your own personal experience and ideas, customise it, and send it in.

It can be completed in less than 10 minutes. This consultation will affect the future or all shooting sports in NZ so all of us need to contribute to ensure fair and effective laws are put into place.

The road to 100,000 submissions from licensed firearm owners starts today.

Few words from Roy. Lots of us have hunted the Wapiti and fiordland. Some of us have even sneaked after the wily Sika. Have your say, time is running out and better management of deer will end up being a lost opportunity without your support!

Support the plans, the anti's need to be countered by the pro's strongly. Please submit your support and suggestions for improving the plans. Even if you have never hunted Sika or Wapiti you can and should express your desires for these iconic herds of deer that are leading the way in enlightened management for a solid future.

Massive thanks to our friends at https://www.selwynarcherysociety.nz/ and https://arrowheadarchery.co.nz/ for attending our monthly branch meeting. Great to have a crack at flicking sticks.

Branch meetings are held second Thursday of each month 7.30pm (excluding January) at the Darfield Shooting Centre (corner Creyke rd and Telegraph rd). All welcome.
