This event is on over at Tarras next Tuesday and we’ve been warmly invited to take part… get rid of your rural waste and grab a coffee and a pie ! What a great initiative Lindis Catchment Group, OCC - Otago Catchment Community Inc

The Lindis Catchment Group is hosting an agri-plastic recycling event in Tarras, with support from Agrecovery, OCC, CODC, and ORC.

An opportunity for farmers and growers in the area to drop off eligible plastics for recycling for free.

The Agrecovery truck will be on site to shred containers.

Enjoy a complimentary coffee and pie.

What you can bring:
➡️ Agrichemical containers and drums
Containers and drums must be triple rinsed, with labels left on and bungs removed.
➡️ Small seed and feed bags
Bags must be clean and packed in Agrecovery liners. If you need liners, please contact Paula at the Lindis Catchment Group before the event.
➡️ ½ tonne and 1 tonne bulk bags
Bulk bags must be clean, dry and folded into one bulk bag before drop-off.

It’s great to have this plan. Thanks OCC for funding, Paula Macfie for doing the plan, and the Lowburn catchment community for inputting into it. Thanks also to our guest speakers Pete Oswald and Jo Wakelin. And to Chard Farm Winery for donating bottles of their wonderful wine so that we could enjoy mulled wine while listening to the presentations.

Saturday 23rd May was a wrap on Phase 1 of our Lowburn Inlet Planting Project! 🌱🌱

450 plants planted Spring 2025 & Autumn 2026

Thanks to everyone who has helped with site prep working bees, w**d control, and planting days 💚

This Lowburn Catchment Group planting project on LINZ land was made possible by Otago Catchment Community, Otago Fish & Game, and many volunteer hours. Shout out to CODC for the free compost too.

Midweek maintenance last Wednesday on our planting area by Lowburn Stream. Thanks to the great team that turned up! We were getting the site ready for next Community Planting Day Saturday 23 May 10 am - 12 pm. Come along and join us next Saturday! Meet at Lowburn Hall 10 am.
