Calligraphy and art encourage creative engagement, helping refugees and migrants expand their vocabulary and produce clearer, more comprehensive written work. These classes also bring together people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, fostering connection and cross-cultural language learning. In addition, calligraphy offers numerous physical and mental health benefits. Regular practice supports overall well-being and is known to improve cognitive function, while also enhancing patience, focus, and mindfulness.

The Women’s Sewing Class is a welcoming, hands-on program where participants create practical and creative projects such as clothing, household items, and up-cycled fabric crafts. No prior sewing experience is needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Guided by experienced and supportive instructors, women gain valuable skills, build confidence, and explore opportunities that can be applied both at home and in future income-generating activities. Beyond sewing, the class fosters meaningful community connections, encourages cultural exchange, and provides a safe, supportive space for women from diverse backgrounds to learn, share, and grow together.
