A few highlights from our Christchurch event on Sunday at Bar Franco. So great to make new connections, re-connect with old friends and hear more from Tom Walsh - Shot Put and Hamish Kerr about their vision for AAT.

Thank you to Sarah Cowley-Ross our MC and our guest speaker - and Zion Armstrong - we couldn’t have done it without you.

Also a big thanks to our supporters Jamie Kay, Pic's Peanut Butter, Aotea, First Light Foods - NZ and Les Mills who provided some fantastic spot prizes for our donors.

We are so excited to share that our online auction is now live!

We launched this on Sunday at our event in Christchurch and have some great competition going already. Check out the incredible items we have up for grabs - link below.

All of the money raised from this auction will go towards our 2026 athlete grants - helping up and coming athletes to prepare for the Commonwealth Games and beyond.

We're keeping the boys busy this weekend!

Tom and Hamish will be at Nga Puna Wai for Canterbury Children's Interclub at 11.30am tomorrow (Saturday). If you're down there competing keep an ear out for the announcement and come and meet them and have a chat.

On Sunday the 1st they're heading up to Wellington for the Capital Classic to run a children's coaching clinic alongside other AAT athletes. We have 80 kids registered! If you missed out on the clinic don't worry, Tom and Hamish will be there for the main competition. Thanks to ACE Rogers Sports for your support on this.

Traditional funding models leave many of our athletes who compete at major international competitions with a significant funding gap. The Aotearoa Athletics Trust is committed to changing that, by providing independent support to enable more athletes to take their place on the World stage and inspire our nation.

Alongside funding, we’re focused on building long-term sustainability for athletics in Aotearoa by fostering stronger connections across the community. A key part of our vision is bringing past and present athletes together - creating opportunities for former athletes to mentor, inspire, and support those currently competing.

By supporting both performance and connection, we aim to create an environment where athletes can thrive, contribute, and carry forward the legacy of New Zealand athletics.
