This is Chris from in Havelock North. He's a massive sports fan and reached out to us to offer his support when we first launched AAT.

As you can see, Chris is holding a piece of New Zealand sporting history that he kindly framed for us. A few people to thank for this one:

The Aotearoa Athletics Trust is so proud of our 2025 and 2026 grant recipients who competed at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Congratulations to Lauren Bruce, who won silver in a nail-biting hammer throw final amidst difficult conditions. And Tori Moorby on her outstanding silver medal in the javelin.

Huge congratulations also to Maddie Wilson, Briana Stephenson, Anthony Barmes, Max Attwell, and Nick Palmer on their exceptional performances at their Commonwealth Games debut.

Special mention to AAT board member and NZ team Chef de Mission Nigel Avery on another successful campaign leading our team on the world stage. And co-founder Tom Walsh on his medal-winning performance in the shot put. We also want to acknowledge Zoe Hobbs and Eliza McCartney on their gold-medal performances - and thank you both for your ongoing support of the Trust.

These performances we have all loved watching at Glasgow over the past couple of weeks is why AAT exists. The Trust was founded by athletes Tom Walsh, Hamish Kerr and Portia Bing to help bridge the funding gap for NZ track and field athletes striving to compete at major international competitions, and to create an environment where athletes can thrive and reach their full potential.

Well done to you all - it's a privilege to be a part of your journey.
