Brian, known to most as “Frostie”, isn’t one to sit still.

You’ll usually find him out on the road with Ted enjoying the freedom of the open road 🚴

With a long career in radio broadcasting, years spent officiating funerals as a celebrant and a keen scuba diver he's spent a lifetime connecting with people and supporting his community.

While out riding, he often sees ambulances and health shuttles on the road and says “It is a reminder of how quickly life can change and how important it is to know that help is close by.”

Sharing his story Frostie says "after a few ambulance rides, I’ve come to really appreciate the care and support I have received. I'm supporting Hato Hone St John both now and through a gift in my Will as my way of giving back, and helping others in my community feel that same reassurance, comfort and care when they need it most.”

As part of our Annual Appeal Weekend, several dedicated staff and volunteers are collecting today. This is a massive team effort, with over 145 collectors on the streets today! We are also thankful to have the support of our partners Harcourts, ASB, MAS, and APO alongside our own team members.

This year we have 34 sites throughout Otautahi with volunteers across all business units in HHStJ, our local Fellowship and Christchurch AC. The Mist Team have set up a fantastic display at Prestons New World, and we have Fleet N #562 (donated by Linda and Barry Jackson) on show in the C*D.
