One of our members, Margaret MacDonald Ceramics is a finalist in the Pushing Clay exhibition currently on in Nelson Whakatū. “My installation places ceramic alpine peaks inside a rusted crayfish pot marking a moment when Aotearoa’s climate policy has bottomed out. As our 2030 targets slip away, it asks us to consider our dual role as catalysts and kaitiaki for these mountains, our waters, and each other.”

A central part of the exhibition celebrates originality, work that stretches the boundaries of traditional practice, and embraces the contemporary, conceptual, and unconventional possibilities of working with clay.
