Where Leaders Are Made

Another great night at Toastmasters this evening! Anton led us as Toastmaster with a deliciously fun theme of food, which kept everyone smiling and engaged throughout the meeting.

We had two fantastic speakers:
• Jessica explored the carrot, the stick, and the internal fire—a thoughtful look at motivation.
• Diane shared why she needs to delegate more, with honesty and humour many of us related to.

Qing Qing stepped up for her very first Table Topics Master role and absolutely nailed it. Her Shark Tank‑style session had members pitching everything from pillows to drink bottles to bags with built‑in chargers. It was hilarious and full of energy.

Thanks again for another great night. We love seeing our members grow, try new roles, and have fun along the way. Guests are always welcome any Tuesday evening.

It was another fantastic night at Toastmasters this evening. Jason took on the Toastmaster role for the first time and absolutely smashed it. His theme—“All the jobs I’ve had”—His memorable jobs include teenage pumpkin farmer to lumberjack in Canada!

Feng delivered his first Grammarian role with real "aplomb" (his word of the day), and our three speakers shone: Fiona spoke about why she is excited to move to the city, Jane delivered a speech on SMART goal setting, and Richard on being an “extraverted introvert.” They were all interesting and enjoyable.

Jessica’s Table Topics drew on the Chinese New Year (today)—the Year of the Fire Horse—highlighting themes of ambition, courage, and thoughtful, confident choices. It inspired some really warm and reflective responses.

An excellent evening all round. Guests are always welcome any Tuesday evening.

✨ Another Fun Night at Cathedral City Toastmasters! ✨

Last night’s meeting was full of energy, laughter, and learning:

🎤 Olly delivered a Level 1 Visionary Communication Pathways speech on doom scrolling and how to manage it — a timely and insightful topic!

🌍 Zane, one of our newest members, jumped right in with an impromptu icebreaker speech, sharing his journey with Toastmasters and his love of travelling.

💡 Diane led Table Topics with a creative twist: we all “inherited” multimillion-dollar fortunes from our mysterious great uncle… made up of gorillas, cacti, and stones! The challenge? Convince the executor why we deserved it most.

📝 Justine rounded out the evening with a General Evaluation, giving thoughtful feedback on how we all did and helping us grow even further.

👏 A big thank you to everyone who participated — nights like these remind us why Toastmasters is such a supportive and inspiring community.

Want to grow your confidence, communication, and leadership skills? Come join us at our next meeting — visitors are always welcome!

🌩️ Another electrifying evening at Toastmasters last night! 🌩️

Our Toastmaster Justine led the night with a timely theme: Significant Weather Events — drawing on memories from her life.

🎤 We were treated to two fantastic Pathways speeches:

Mitch, on Level 1 of the Presentation Mastery path, shared insights on the power of reuse, drawing inspiration from SpaceX’s Falcon 9. A stellar start to his journey!

Diane, on Level 4 of Motivational Strategies, delivered a heartfelt and empowering speech titled "Getting Over the Nerves", helping us all confront our fears of public speaking with courage and grace.

🎃 Our Table Topics session, hosted by the ever-creative Fiona, embraced the Halloween spirit with spooky and surprising questions that kept us all on our toes!

👋 We also welcomed our newest member, Feng, to the club — we’re thrilled to have you on board!

Thanks to everyone who made the night so memorable. Can’t wait for the next one! 💬✨

A Night of Hobbies, Journeys, and Interview Questions! 🎤🎉

What a fantastic night at Cathedral city Toastmasters! A huge thank you to the brilliant Toastmaster Diane for leading a fun and insightful meeting with the theme of Hobbies ☘️📚🧱.

We enjoyed two wonderful speeches on journeys:

Jason shared inspiring stories from his journey in helping people ❤️. Richard offered a thoughtful reflection on his Toastmasters journey to date 🗣️.

Anton then put our quick thinking to the test with impromptu Table Topics focused on tricky job interview questions ❓—always great practice! It was also wonderful to have our guest, Zane, give a fantastic introduction 👋.

After a quick break for a cup of tea a biscuit and a chat ☕🍪, the second half of the night provided truly insightful evaluations that everyone learned from and took something valuable away.

All in all, another fun and motivating evening!

Ready to improve your public speaking and leadership skills? Come along next week! Guests are always welcome.

🌱 We had a great meeting this evening, led by our Toastmaster, Jane, who is no stranger to the role. She guided us through a well-timed spring theme: gardening. Her thoughtful topic and well-paced agenda kept things flowing smoothly. 🌸

A special shoutout to Mitch, who stepped in as Grammarian at the last minute and chose the word of the day: “Unprepared.” Ironically fitting—but the word was used creatively throughout the night. Nicely done!

🌟 We were also thrilled to welcome back our four returning guests, who took on Table Topics and shared their favourite things. From books to movies and holiday destinations, it was great hearing more about each of you. We hope to see you again next week!

Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the evening engaging and fun. See you next time! 🌼🌿
