Christchurch City Council are planning to upgrade Aorangi Road, between Ilam Road and Brookside Terrace, which includes the final section of the Nor'West Arc cycleway.
They consulted on this section of the cycleway in 2021, and a design was approved by the Council. Later, they found that Aorangi Road needs a full street renewal and wastewater renewals too, so the project was reassessed.

They are now planning to combine the three projects and deliver:
🚗 a full street renewal
🚴 cycleway
💦 wasterwater upgrades

By combining these three projects into one, the Council can save money and minimise disruption to the street with a one-dig approach. They have listened to feedback from the last round of consultation and updated the designs. By combining the street renewal and cycleway together, we are able to make more changes.

What a fantastic evening at Kia Ora Burnside – Connect @ Kendal on 10 March! ☀️

As our first-ever event, it was so great to see the community come together to enjoy free food, activities, and connect with local groups 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a success.

What an amazing evening at Kia Ora Burnside – Connect@Kendal! It was fantastic to see so many people from across the community come along to enjoy the activities, grab some kai, connect with local groups, and simply spend time together. 🍦🎨⚽

A huge thank you to all the stallholders, activity providers, volunteers, and community groups who helped make the event possible. Events like this only happen because of the time, energy, and generosity of so many people behind the scenes. 💛

And of course, thank you to everyone from the community who came along and braved the chilly wind. We estimated 400-500 people attended, which is an amazing turnout for our first event!
