He had been creating fictitious invoices being paid into personal and family bank accounts. In July 2019 the director of CST; Mikael Nadon was caught personally stealing from the organization he was entrusted to care for. It was discovered he had been creating fictitious supplier invoices which were then paid into various bank accounts. All these accounts have now been identified as Mikael Nadon’
s personal or family accounts. The total amount of thefts was considerable, over $100,000. This fraud when uncovered has forced CST to close its doors. Staff have been let go, our various volunteers thanked, our suppliers left out of pocket but most affected and damaged by Mikael Nadon’s actions are the dozens of needing and deserving Canterbury families who now will not receive their Warm, Dry and Healthier homes. This in turn will cause issues with their health,
create conflict within families and whanau, and sadly affects us all as a community. It is with sadness mixed with anger that we are forced by one persons greed and selfishness to cease being able to keep giving back to the Canterbury Community. And the last question we are left with.. “Was it worth it Mike?”
- Mikael Nadon, a French Canadian national with residency in NZ was last reported by NZ police to be remanded in custody over unrelated charges. As pertains to his callous thieving from CST, the wheels of NZ justice seem to turn very slowly when dealing with white collar crime but everyone affected by his crime are both hopeful and confident of a conviction and subsequent incarceration and deportation.
