Just a heads up, there will be no Employment Help Desk at the Youth Hub tomorrow (Tuesday 19 May).

Our Employment Help Desk offers free, short one-on-one support sessions for young people aged 12–24 who might need a hand with work, study, or figuring out their next steps.

Need help with:
CVs and cover letters
Job searching
Interview prep
Study, training or career pathways
General employment or education questions

No booking needed - just turn up for a quick chat with our Employment Team. Sessions are up to 20 minutes.

You can still catch us:
Thursday, 2–4pm
The Loft, upstairs at Eastgate Mall

These sessions are a great starting point if you’ve got a question, need a confidence boost, or just aren’t sure where to start!

We’re currently looking for a registered Social Worker to join the team at Te Tahi Youth.

This is a full-time, permanent role working within our integrated Youth One Stop Shop model, supporting rangatahi aged 10–24 with mental health and wellbeing needs through our Manu Ka Rere Access & Choice service.

This role is a mix of direct mahi with rangatahi, alongside triage, care coordination, and working closely with our wider multidisciplinary team to support young people navigating more complex challenges.

To apply, contact Gary at [email protected] to request an application pack, including the Position Description and Employment Application Form.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we may interview and appoint prior to the closing date.

What does a $300 food donation from an anonymous supporter look like?

It looks a little something like this.

When we asked our young people what would make Te Tahi Youth more helpful, one response really stayed with us.

“Food. A lot of people don’t have food and feel bad asking for it.”

So we’re doing something small, but practical.

We’re launching Give What You Can. A community food drive across Ōtautahi and surrounding areas.

We’re asking schools, workplaces, and community groups to collect just one non-perishable item per person.

Those items will be turned into food parcels for rangatahi we support, given quietly, and with dignity.

If you can help, or want to run a collection, we’ve made it really easy.

Reach out to: [email protected]
Visit: tetahiyouth.org.nz/how-to-get-involved/give-what-you-can/ to download a supporters pack.

We’re calling on our community to get behind this, please get in touch if you can support.
