Those who are not from Hungary, might be wondering what the story is with 20 August. HungarianKiwiNZ has made a short video about the history of the holiday - https://youtu.be/j7tJ1vcMXGE. The video also explains the connection with the “New Bread”.

Here at the Christchurch Hungarian Club we will be playing it in our event on Sunday 23 August.
If you are intending to come, please register with the Secretary by Thursday – and to get discount on the lunch, you need to pay by then too.

We had a great response to the Dance House with Norbi and Petra. A range of ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities; even some people from out of Christchurch.
Our dances were a little easier than the one Norbi demonstrated (Legényes) - with jumps and slaps.

Great news! The Balaton Kitchen will be present outside the club during the Táncház next Saturday. If you need more than a snack or are vegan inclined, don't forget your wallet.
