We are disappointed to share that, due to the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region, the Pilgrim Bandits New Zealand expedition to Crete planned for May has been postponed until 2027.
This decision has been absolutely gutting for the entire team. With travel to and from Crete requiring transit through Dubai, we’ve had to accept that we cannot fully guarantee the safety of our people during the journey, and that has to come first.
The good news is that the trip will still go ahead, with the same team. All funds raised and donations received will remain securely in the Crete expedition account for the rescheduled trip. Every member of the expedition would like to sincerely thank our supporters for their incredible generosity and encouragement over the past 12 months — it means the world to us.
As frustrating and disappointing as this decision is, ensuring the safety of our people in these uncertain times is the most important thing of all.

I am returning to Crete in May 2026 with Pilgrim Bandits NZ, this time as one of the leaders. As a part of the group fundraising Pilgrim Bandits NZ are running a Got Ya Back campaign - selling naming slots on a T-Shirt from 1-50, each number is worth that in price, 1 = $1, 50 = $50.
The money raised will go towards our trip to Crete in May 2026.

You can purchase any amount of numbers and add your name or whatever you would like so long as it is not offensive so it passes the websites check.

Mediterranean Food Co. Valley Ultra - ultra valley mountain events… look out here we come!! A small team of 7 PBNZ are heading to castle hill to,orrow night to tackle their events on Sat, followed by Cave Stream cold water walk Sunday to wake us all back up.. looking forward to the banter, and moans coming from aged bodies after the event.. always a hoot with such great people.

Thankyou so much to all of our local Pilgrim Bandits who came out today to the Selwyn Motorfest to give their time to fundrasie for the charity members going to Crete in 2026. Hugely appreciated, and moreso in the hot weather that presented today.
Thankyou also to Selwyn Motor Fest for supporting us today with the site to run the BbQ for the team fundraiser. Such a great community spirited event.

Another successful fundraiser for the pilgrim bandits NZ team who are heading to Crete in 2026 to retrace the footsteps of our WW2 soldiers escape route through the mountains near Skafia . Well done all and thankyou for volunteering your time last night to support. Selwyn Fireworks Spectacular thankyou for an incredible event. so great to be a part.of it. Thankyou for the support once again.

Three PBNZ "nutters" headed off to Hanmer for a bit of ghost hunting event recce a few weekend ago. An amazing oppertunity to get away from life, relax in a quiet and calming environment and then bring up the adrenaline with some late night ghost hunting in a known historic haunted veterans hospital. A great weekend ending with a bit of mini golf and escape room afterwards. One for future events I think!
