Over eight weeks during Term 2, former refugee and migrant whānau from the Te Puna Wai o Waipapa Hagley College community, along with participants from across Ōtautahi Christchurch, came together for our Whānau Learning Hub sessions.

These sessions provided a welcoming, culturally responsive, and inclusive space where whānau could build their confidence in supporting their children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

With the support of the Hagley College Diversity Services team, the preschool delivered a range of practical, hands-on workshops covering topics such as healthy nutrition and growing food at home, the importance of maintaining home languages, learning through play, child health and wellbeing, social and emotional development, and supporting children as they transition to school.

It has been a privilege to learn alongside so many wonderful whānau and to strengthen the connections that help children thrive both at home and in their learning journey.
