The Catholic Social Services team, together with a team from St Vincent de Paul Canterbury, served the community at Hampshire St, Aranui this afternoon. On this cold winters day, the warm soup, blankets and clothes were greatly appreciated. Thanks to PAK'nSAVE for sponsoring the event.

From his miraculous conception to his bold preaching in the wilderness, the entire life of St John the Baptist was a signpost pointing to Christ. Even before he was born, John began his mission of proclamation by leaping in his mother Elizabeth’s womb at the presence of Mary and the unborn Christ.
Today as we celebrate the feast day of the patron saint of our diocese, we pray that our lives would also point to and lead others to Christ.
St John the Baptist, pray for us.

This morning Msgr Anthony Figueredo concelebrated Mass at the Carmelite monastery and preached powerfully on the gospel of the day, where your treasure is, there is your heart.
St Carlo's treasure was in the heart of God.

The school visits continued today, students venerated the relic and learnt about the life of St Carlo. 👇

Over this time of heightened scamming, please be vigilant. We are being targeted. If you receive an email or text from a priest, check the validity of the email address and mobile number. If you do not recognise the sender's details, do not respond to the message no matter how often you continue to receive it.

It was all kinds of beautiful at the youth and young adults encounter event tonight. Beautiful Holy Spirit, music, talks and beautiful open hearts. Praise God for the way he is working in the hearts of our young people! 🙌
Our young people had a time of adoration, reconciliation, veneration, worship and a talk by Msgr Anthony. Who spoke of a question asked to the Lord by many, including Solomon, St Francis of Assisi and St Carlo Acutis... Lord what do you want me to do?
The young St Carlo, at age 7, shared his answer from the Lord... "to always be united to Jesus, this is my programme of life".
The young Carlo understood we become what we receive and that is why he wanted to receive Jesus everyday.
