Wainoni Avonside Community Services Coodinator is BETTY CHAPMAN. Betty's role is to coordinate and plan the delivery of services. The venue is 878 Avonside Drive, the home of Wainoni Methodist Church. All parts of the complex are used by Wainoni Avonside Community Services which operates every day of the week except for a 4 week recess over Christmas/New Year. The building is safe (meets earthquak
e standards), warm and user-friendly. Plenty of off-street and on-road parking. Regular Activities
Every day of the week a low-impact gym is available. This is a new service. Monday: Loopy Tunes 9.30-10.30am (music programme for pre-schoolers)
Tuesday: Crafts 10am-12 non, Art 10am - 12 noon, Tai Chi 12 noon-1pm, Line Dancing 1-2pm
Wednesday: Sit and Be Fit 10.30-11.30am, Cooking Demonstrations 10.30-11.30am alternate weeks, Healthy Living Lectures 11.45am-12.45pm alternate weeks, Zumba Gold 1-2pm
Thursday: Walking Group 10am-12 noon, Indoor Bowls 10am - 12 noon, Movies 1-3.30pm, Indoor Games, such as Scrabble 1-3.30pm
Seminars and life-style courses are offered from time to time, including those offered by Age Concern. Special celebrations and fun lunches are held from time to time. A Vege Co-op is available every week. $10 for a bag of seasonal vegetables and fruit.
