Morning race fans,
One of our racers has misplaced a MyLaps transponder during the champs a few weeks ago.
Red 3 wire # 7508045 if anyone found one!

After a stressful weekend at the South Island indoor champs, a few of the lads got together for a bit of a change of pace tonight! Heaps of fun!

2026 South Island Indoor Champs report - changing of the guard!

This years champs had been eagerly awaited for quite some time. Locally, a couple of young bucks had been tusslin' with club legend Daniel Thompson for the last few months and threatening to take over. Further up north a couple of emerging super stars had committed to the event and some regular travelers from Invercargill plus 1/8 mega star Jayden Jamieson were coming too!

Christchurch turned on the heat wave for the weekend but the action on track was even hotter! Thankfully D-Maz was on hand from Lets Race RC to document the whole thing on video!

Qualifying showed Logan Toia in the Yokomos on top in 2WD mod just ahead of X-Rays Will Sloan, Jayden Jamieson on top in 4WD mod, Jackson Coombes in charge of 2WD stadium truck, and both Stock buggy classes with Brent Grey on top in Short Course and Henry Houliston in charge in Under 16!
The tension was palpable in the pits as we headed to finals time!

Will Sloan came out the gates first but it was Logan Toia who would win the final 2 x 10.5 2WD mod races to take the title / the big one!

Jackson Coombes took the 2WD Stock class ahead of a charging Jon Cunard.

In the 4WD mod class Logan Toia again came home ahead of Will Sloan with the father-son duo Zac and Ian Rickerby battling for third!

Coombes again battled John Cunard for 4WD Stock Buggy - having to win the last one to get the title!

Sam Sloan came out of nowhere to win the Under 16 class ahead of emerging 1/8 nitro talent Hayden Palmer reppin South Canterbury and Ben Thompson.

Stadium Truck went the way of Jackson Coombes running a borrowed TLR truck ahead of Brent Grey and Henry Houliston.

Brent Grey featured again - taking out Short course ahead of Invercargill's Danny Lang and young gun Oscar Ansley.

All results can be found here: https://circcc.liverc.com/results/

When the dust had settled, the young guns had well and truly emerged but the veteran talent continues to shine brightly and make them work for it!

Massive thank you to the following people who made this possible:
-Neil "The Grandmaster" White for once again running a largely flawless event!
-The committee and club members for work to put this weekend on
-The Canterbury Kennel Association for continuing to host us in the venue
-The racers from near and far who travelled to the event
-Jon Cunard for the sick looking trophies!

Cheers
