Recently, Odyssey House celebrated our first joint graduation of the Men's Residential Programme and He Kete Oranga o te Mana Wahine!

It was a beautiful evening shared with lots of whanau, friends, and supporters of our Tane and Wahine graduates.

Evenings like these remind us of our purpose and why we do what we do. It is an opportunity for our Graduates to showcase all the hard mahi they have done on their recovery journey's so far.

He Kete Oranga o Te Mana Wahine was honoured to welcome Matt Doocey, Minister for Mental Health, to our new premises, alongside key partners including Nigel, Clinical Director of Odyssey House, leadership from Te Whatu Ora, and Te Kaiwhakahaere (Chief Executive Officer) of Purapura Whetu Trust.

Their presence acknowledged the significance of this new space for wāhine and whānau — a place grounded in kaupapa Māori healing, recovery, and connection. The visit was a meaningful opportunity to share our vision, strengthen partnerships across agencies, and highlight the collective commitment to supporting wāhine on their journey to wellbeing.

One of our leaders, Marion Tizzard had her farewell from Odyssey today. After 14 years of innovation, determination and hard slog, she is due a rest! Marion has been integral to establishing many of our services, particularly our Womens residential alcohol and drug services. She’s a legend, and we are so proud to have worked with her…and she isn’t getting away easily, Marion will be back to do projects for Odyssey in the future. Thank you Marion for being a part of our team and our community.
