It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of CKA Life Member and long time Custodian/Caretaker John Davidson. John was for many years the caretaker at McLeans Island, mowing the grass, repairing the irrigation and anything else that broke down, cut down trees and a multitude of other jobs. We will be forever in his debt. Our deepest sympathy to Ellen, Emma and all of John's friends and family at this sad time. Rest well John.

CGC Notice Corwrecktion

In a former notice, it was specified that CGC Classes would finish on June 22nd and recommence 27th July.
Apologies for the incorrect dates given.
Last CGC Class will be tonight (15 June 2026). If coming, please bring a plate to share.
Recommencement date will be Monday 27th July.

Work has begun on the install of the new switchboard at the kennel centre. This is an essential upgrade as the old switchboard posed a significant fire risk and there was no room left for any upgrades to our electrical system. Expensive but absolutely essential.

By now those of you who visit the McLeans Island venue will have seen the amazing job Wendy has made of the gardens.

Now that winter is fast approaching we need to mulch the gardens and pea straw is the best option.

If anyone has a source of pea straw that we can purchase at a good price we would love to hear from you.

Yesterday the Supreme Showdog Contest and the Dominion Samoyed Club joined forces to dedicate a plaque on the CKA memorial wall to Elma Todd. Elma was Patroness of both clubs and will be greatly missed by all who had the great fortune to know this very special lady.
