It was great to be part of the recent University of Canterbury Sport Internship Showcase.

The Showcase provides students with a chance to interview with a range of different sports and organisations, as they start looking for volunteer internship opportunities for 2027.

ParaFed Canterbury traditionally offers a student an internship placement opportunity once a year and this usually consists of 120+ hours of practical volunteer work as part of their studies.

Great article on Wheelchair Rugby now Para Table Tennis player, Paralympian #126, Tim Johnson.

How it started vs how it's going 🙌🌿🖤

Paralympian #126 Tim Johnson is proof that age is no barrier to success after successfully pivoting from Wheelchair Rugby to Para table tennis - and in doing so, potentially putting his hand up for another Paralympics selection nearly three decades after his first.

The privegiving for the 8th edition of the Boccia Club League (BCL) was held over the weekend at the Bishopdale Recreation Centre.

Completed last month, the BCL is a full round-robin competition played over several months. It provides players the opportunity to play competitive matches each week, possibly the only boccia club in New Zealand to run a league like this.

Well done to everyone who competed. Lilian Exton was the winner of this year's BCL, making her a three time champion, having also won it in 2025 and 2023.

Thank you to Craig and Alisha who once again coordinated the draws and points table. Thank you also to everyone who officiated and assisted with the games.

Top Four
1st - Lilian Exton
2nd - Craig Gadsby
3rd - Andrew Hocken
4th - Chloe Sturt
