Canterbury Flyfishing Club Beginners Flyfishing School
We have 4 places available for out next flyfishing school to be held on 25th & 26th October
We have split school into 2 days / 4 sessions. On Saturday we do sessions 1, 2 & 3 in the classroom at F & G offices on Johns Road and on Sunday our FFI qualified instructors do a casting day at Roto Kohatu Reserve.
Morning tea & lunch is provided on both days.
Feel free to bring along your own gear .
The cost is $150
Session 1
• Rods Reels, Lines
• Basic gear i.e., Clothing, footwear
• Essential tackle items i.e. nippers, forceps, indicator tool
• Polaroid sunglasses
• Fishing vests, packs
• General discussion
Session 2
• Leaders, tippets, basic knots
• Typical setups i.e., Dry/dropper, Truck & trailer
• Setting up indicators
• Basic entomology
Session 3
• How to find the fish
• Techniques i.e., Nymphing, Dry fly, Streamer
• Fishing etiquette
• Wading & river safety
Session 4
• Casting – On Sunday at Roto Kohatu reserve
