Philippines Culture and Migrant Services Trust The objectives for which the group is established are:

1. To promote mutual support, joint action, and cooperation with similar communities and organizations.

A group of Filipinos who resides in Canterbury and is a non-profitable organization to promote mutual support, joint action, and cooperation with similar communities and organizations. To promote friendship and mutual respect between the Filipino community and all other people in NZ.

2. To promote and advance the interest and welfare of the Filipino community in NZ and to contribute to the development and progress of NZ.

3. To KEEP ALIVE AND PROMOTE THE CULTURE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES, CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS AND CULTURE OF THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY.

4. To organize and help non-political cultural, educational, economic, social, welfare and physical activities for the Filipino community.

5. To keep and promote Filipino, as heritage Language of the Filipino community and encourage the continued use of the Filipino language.

6. To organize regular meetings and other opportunities for members and their families to learn the English language and the customs of NZ, and for other NZ-ders to learn and appreciate the customs and culture of the Filipino people.

7. To provide government departments, local authorities, schools and other interested people and organizations with information about the Filipino people and culture.

An important meeting will be held on Saturday, 7 November, 2pm at 99B Epsom Road, Sockburn, Christchurch for final instructions and arrangements of the event. At the same time, we will conduct the drawing of assigned stall numbers, truck spaces, and information marquees to ensure that the allocation process is fair and transparent to everyone.
If you are unable to attend personally, you may send a representative on your behalf.

Our seminars will provide useful information, practical guidance, community connections, and opportunities to learn about services and resources available to migrants as they build their lives in New Zealand.

Community Call: Water Safety Initiative
Seeking Philippine Community Leaders, Groups and Church Representatives – Glenavy to Oamaru
We are inviting Philippine community leaders, representatives of community groups, churches, and organisations in the Glenavy to Oamaru area to work together on an important water safety improvement campaign.
This initiative will bring communities together with Deputy Harbourmaster of Environment Canterbury, Gordon Mckay, New Zealand Police, Surf Life Saving, and the Otago Regional Council to promote practical water-safety awareness and help prevent accidents and loss of life in our waterways and coastal areas.
We are seeking community leaders who are willing to:
Promote water-safety awareness within the Filipino community.
Help identify local water-safety concerns and community needs.
Encourage families, young people and community members to participate in safety initiatives.
Support community education, workshops and awareness campaigns.
Work collaboratively with Environment Canterbuty, Police, Surf Life Saving and the Otago Regional Council.
Your leadership can help make our communities safer.
