Philippines Culture and Migrant Services Trust The objectives for which the group is established are:

1. To promote mutual support, joint action, and cooperation with similar communities and organizations.

A group of Filipinos who resides in Canterbury and is a non-profitable organization to promote mutual support, joint action, and cooperation with similar communities and organizations. To promote friendship and mutual respect between the Filipino community and all other people in NZ.

2. To promote and advance the interest and welfare of the Filipino community in NZ and to contribute to the develo

pment and progress of NZ.

3. To KEEP ALIVE AND PROMOTE THE CULTURE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES, CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS AND CULTURE OF THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY.

4. To organize and help non-political cultural, educational, economic, social, welfare and physical activities for the Filipino community.

5. To keep and promote Filipino, as heritage Language of the Filipino community and encourage the continued use of the Filipino language.

6. To organize regular meetings and other opportunities for members and their families to learn the English language and the customs of NZ, and for other NZ-ders to learn and appreciate the customs and culture of the Filipino people.

7. To provide government departments, local authorities, schools and other interested people and organizations with information about the Filipino people and culture.

Dear Friends and Community Members,

In celebration of the 2026 Independence Day, we warmly invite you to attend a special movie screening on Saturday, 20 June 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Great Hall of the Arts Center, 2 Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch.

This meaningful event offers three wonderful opportunities:

1. To appreciate the brilliance, patriotism, and inspiring life of the young Jose Rizal, and his contribution to freedom and nationhood.

2. To deepen our understanding of our history, culture, and independence through the powerful medium of film and storytelling.

3. To experience the excitement of being part of a Christchurch movie project. A workshop will be held following the screening, and those interested in auditioning are encouraged to stay and participate.

Families, students, educators, community leaders, and friends are all encouraged to attend this special presentation. Admission is by koha.

We look forward to sharing this inspiring and memorable occasion with you.
