Well said Thomas Jefferson. Add to that term limits. Remuneration to be the average wage plus expenses, superannuation to be the same as the rest of us (Kiwi Saver). No perks post serving as a politician. Then we will get the sort of people we want in government.

Thomas Jefferson understood a knowledgeable people was imperative to maintaining individual freedoms & our constitutional republic.
Here’s a passage from Thomas Jefferson’s “Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge (June 18, 1779)

“…experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny; and it is believed that the most effectual means of preventing this would be, to illuminate, as far as practicable, the minds of the people at large, and more especially to give them knowledge of those facts, which history exhibiteth, that, possessed thereby of the experience of other ages and countries, they may be enabled to know ambition under all its shapes, and prompt to exert their natural powers to defeat its purposes ... whence it becomes expedient for promoting the publick happiness that those persons, whom nature hath endowed with genius and virtue, should be rendered by liberal education worthy to receive, and able to guard the sacred deposit of the rights and liberties of their fellow citizens, and that they should be called to that charge without regard to wealth, birth or other accidental condition or circumstance.”

Government Income Only Exists Through Violence

This is a simple truth people refuse to say out loud. Government does not create wealth. It does not invent, build, trade or produce. Every dollar the state spends is taken from a citizen who earned it. The mechanism that makes this possible is force. Taxes exist because the state holds a monopoly on violence. If you refuse to pay, eventually someone with a gun will arrive. That is the foundation.

It is easy politics to take money from productive citizens and redistribute it to a less productive voter base. It is easy to promise benefits funded by someone else. It is easy to disguise coercion as compassion. That is the game of modern politics and it is why governments grow endlessly. They reward dependence and punish the individuals who carry the country.

What is hard and brave is to stand for individual freedom. To say to people that you will not buy their vote. To tell them the government will not parent them, subsidise them or distract them from their own potential. To offer nothing except freedom and responsibility. That is the honest political platform. That is the moral platform.

If a citizen keeps the wealth they create they will produce more, innovate more, and build more. If government takes it, the nation becomes slower, weaker, and less ambitious. The more a country leans into individual freedom, the stronger it becomes. The more it leans into force, the more it declines.

Freedom works because it aligns with human nature. Coercion fails because it fights it. The next era of prosperity will belong to the nations that rediscover this truth and have the courage to reduce the size of the state rather than expand it.

That is the future I believe in.

You will own what you work for and be happy

There is a famous line promoted by the World Economic Forum under the leadership of Klaus Schwab.
“You will own nothing and be happy.”
It was presented as a vision of the rental economy, a future where homes, cars and possessions are no longer owned by individuals but accessed temporarily from institutions. A world where ownership becomes unnecessary.

This is a worldview I completely reject.

Removing ownership removes independence. When people own nothing, they are dependent on organisations and governments for everything. When life becomes a series of rented services, personal responsibility fades and state power grows. A society without ownership is a society without autonomy.

Human beings flourish when they own things they have worked for. Ownership gives dignity. Pride. Control over your life. It creates citizens who stand on their own feet rather than wait to be taken care of. Private property is beautiful because it is the physical expression of your effort and your freedom.

Ownership requires effort. You work, you earn, you save and you purchase the things that become yours. That process is where pride comes from. You built it. You own it. And no one can take that dignity from you.

I want a different reality for New Zealanders. I want you to own the things that matter.
A home. A car. Investment properties. Companies. Gold. Silver. Shares. A farm. Cash in the bank.
Assets that make you independent and confident in shaping your own future.

Of course the rental economy has its place. I am perfectly happy to order an Uber after dinner rather than own a car for that specific moment. But a practical convenience is not a philosophy. Renting is sometimes useful. It is not a way of life.

We reject the idea:
“You will own nothing and be happy.”
And we choose instead:
“You will own what you work for and be happy.”

New Zealand DOGE

New Zealand does not need more ministries, more regulators or more bureaucrats. It needs a Department Of Government Efficiency. New Zealand DOGE. A department with one clear goal. Cut government spending from 42% of GDP to 21%. Half the size. Twice the efficiency. A government that finally lives within its means, so citizens are free to live within theirs.

Government spending grows for one reason. No one inside the system has an incentive to reduce it. Bureaucracies expand, costs rise and new rules are created even when old rules no longer serve any purpose. The result is predictable. A slow decline in productivity and a growing burden on the people who actually create the wealth.

DOGE reverses this. Every ministry, every department and every regulation must prove it delivers more value than it destroys. If it does not, it goes. Waste is removed. Duplication is eliminated. Dead regulations are killed. The government becomes smaller, faster and focused only on what it must do, not what it feels like doing.

And when spending is cut in half, the country unlocks its future. Debt can be paid down aggressively, lowering interest costs for decades. Taxation can be halved, returning thousands of dollars back to every working New Zealander. Citizens keep the majority of what they produce instead of watching it disappear into a system that treats their effort as the property of the state.

Taking half a person’s productivity is not a tax system. It is economic servitude. No free society can justify it. Prosperity comes from free individuals acting on their own judgement, not from a political class directing the economy while consuming half of everything the nation produces.

New Zealand DOGE is not a slogan. It is a course correction. A commitment to control the cost of government, restore efficiency and return power to the people who actually earn the wealth.

A smaller government means a stronger nation. And DOGE is how we get there.

The real issue is not "teach dont preach" The issue that must be addressed is "what is it you are preaching (teaching). What ideology is that based on and what level of truth is in it, and what fruit will come from this curriculum and the culture that surrounds it? " That is the discussion that must be had. The current course of our education system will see our society destroyed in 20 years.

If schools spent half as much time on literacy as they do on Treaty activism, NZ wouldn’t be in a learning crisis.

This is Our Most Desperate Hour.

This phrase taken from Winston Churchills description of the Battle of Britain describes the current climate in New Zealand in the run up to the 19th September 2020 General Election. The period running up to the election may be New Zealand's last chance to prevent a full Socialist take over of our political system.

It is our task to WAKE NEW ZEALAND UP to the life threating danger of what lies beyond this election if a Labour lead coalition remains in power. We have a chance to save New Zealand from this TYRANNY currently sweeping the country in all manner of societal changes and legislations removing our natural Human Rights and Freedoms.

Our single focus prior to this election is to WAKE UP NEW ZEALANERS to this danger and call them to UNITE WITH THEIR PARTY VOTES to put a strong principle based minority party that views all New Zealanders equally and wont sell us out (like all the current elected minority parties) into power this election.

This situation has been caused by successive governments from both sides of the isle either overtly or covertly supporting a Socialist / Globalist agenda. As there is so little difference between the values demonstrated by the two main parties (National and Labour) there is a real danger, without a strong minority party they themselves could unite and speed New Zealand's progression into the next Venezuela or a Little China / CCP.
