We are all Hussein
On the 14th of March 2019, I was having dinner with my brother Hussein Al-Umari. I was wearing a T-Shirt that had the words “ See you , bye”. Hussein told me that he really like my T-Shirt multiple times.
On the 15th of March 2019, Hussein didn’t come home, Hussein was murdered in the Al-Noor Mosque in Christchurch trying to protect the mosque. Hussein is a giver and he gave his life for the sake of others. Hussein is a Hero. I His sister ( Aya ) will pick up where he left off, this is our story. This page is Hussein’s past, present and future journey with me. It is about giving back to society, it is about spreading the message of co-existance. I also aim to raise awareness and combat ignorance with education.
During my time in Saudia Arabia, I always heard the words “ Kulna Hussein” when people tried to console me, what this means is We are all your brothers, we are all Hussein. I may have lost a brother in life, but I sure did gain a lot of brothers.
