We are grateful that the same judging team we had in 2025 is again able to bring their expertise in public speaking and passion for people & planet to the competition this year. Thank you Jenny Hughey (ONZM), Chrissie Williams, and Greg Byrnes. We know you will have a tough job next Friday 26 June as the judges for the heats found the quality high this year.

It was delightful this morning to listen to the winner of this year's Race Unity Speech competition. John Campbell interviewed Amanjot Singh, Head Boy at Hastings Boys' High, about what inspired his speech on the theme of 'Listening to Understand
Whakarongo Kia Mārama'. What he had to say reinforced the importance, and power, of a well crafted speech delivered with heart & lived experience.
We look forward to hearing some powerful speeches on this year's S4P theme 'Seeding Change: A Feast for the Future'.

A year 13 student from Hawke's Bay has been named the national champion of the 2026 Race Unity Speech Awards. Amanjot Singh spoke to John Campbell.
