Junior Surf kicks off 1 November with our first club day of the season!

This is also a chance for anyone wanting to check out what junior surf at Spencer Park is all about. We will cover a bit of information about our programme then a chance for nippers to give it a go in a free beach session alongside our existing clubbies. Afterwards warm up in the club with hot chips and games. Bar will also be open for beverage purchases.

What to bring - Wetsuit, sunblock, towel, change of clothes for after, $3 for hot chips!

Have you heard of our junior surf life saving programme?!

Aimed for Children aged 5 to 13, junior surf at Spencer Park Surf Lifesaving Club is where kids build confidence, learn essential water safety skills, make friends and most importantly have fun! 💛

Junior surf is held on Sunday’s, 10am to 12pm throughout the season. Kids get to enjoy a huge variety of both beach and water based activities as well as opportunities for pool sessions.

We are super excited to welcome more juniors to the Spencer Park whānau this season 🌊

Yesterday was South Island Pool Rescue Champs at Parakiore. Great Spencer Park club representation shown by our 8 competitors: Joel, Riley, Nick, Harry, Amanda, Lexie, Una and Holly!

Nick & Harry acheived 2nd in the Open Mens Line Throw event losing only to the national champs and record holders from New Brighton.

Lexie Palmer got silver overall 🥈 U13 female pipped from her gold from last year by just 1 point by a travelling North Island competitor. Amazingly close races and she will get a chance to go again against the best in the country in a couple of weeks at Nationals.

Thank you to coach Riley for his excellent coaching and to Caroline and Lauren for timekeeping.

We had a great night on Friday with the opportunity to catch up with current and past members. The buzz is starting, everyone is frothing to get back into what we love 🌊

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures, and surf club legends in our community. Today we celebrate the people who cheer from the sand, help with early-morning patrols, carry boards, tie caps, cook the BBQ, fix gear, volunteer their time, and show up whenever they’re needed.

To the dads in our Surf Life Saving whānau — thank you for the support, strength, humour, and heart you bring to our club. Whether you’re on patrol, coaching nippers, helping behind the scenes, or simply being there for your family, you make a real difference.

Wishing you all a relaxed and well-deserved Father’s Day. We hope you have stayed warm, and maybe even got a hot coffee before it went cold!

Spring has sprung 🌷

Whilst we’re still waiting for that water temperature to warm up, the frost is getting shaken off down at the club!

Patrols are still a wee while away but pre season training, pool champs and lifeguard recruiting are kicking off 🌊

📍 this FRIDAY 4th September is our clubbies catch up. Kicking off at 6pm, come along for a drink and a chat! This is a great opportunity to think about what you are wanting out of the season.
