Stage Three Hayden McKenzie Memorial Trophy Apprentice Of The Year 2022.

A culture of training doesn't just happen.

Years of commitment to apprentice training and qualifications by Chris and Rebecca Burns at Winton & Invercargill FlooringXtra came together in the awarding of Apprentice of the Year Stage Three to Calem Castle.

Over the years of his apprenticeship, Calem turned a turn-up-to-a job approach into a trade and a career. Work ethic, reliability, pride in doing the job right, skills taught and practiced in evidence in the workplace day in, day out Calem went from strength to strength through the pathway of Block Courses and rose to the top, an exceptional Stage Three apprentice and qualified tradesperson.

Henry Pat - Christchurch Timber Sanders Ltd

Stage Two Apprentice Of The Year 2022 AND The Supreme Award Of The Scott Cato Trophy 2022.

The Wayne Young Trophy For Employer of the Year 2022 was awarded to Anna and Darrel Pat.

It was a family affair at the presentation of the Stage Two and the Supreme Award to Henry Pat of Christchurch Timber Sanders Ltd. Fine sanders and finishers with their home and business on the outskirts of Christchurch.

A professional business professionally presented down to the stylish company shirts and company logo.

Henry, quite simply excellent. Well done!

Ryan Perkins - TAK Flooring Ltd
Stage One Apprentice Of The Year 2022.

After 9 years as a chef, Ryan wanted a change in career. The flooring trade....?? A piece of cake!

Team-TAK's pride was evident in all who gathered in-store at the presentation of the Stage One award to Ryan Perkins of TAK Flooring Ltd, Dunedin. On-the-floor trainers, workmates, office staff, managers, and owners of TAK all felt that they had had a part to play in Ryan’s recognition and achievement as Apprentice of the Year Stage One.

Congrats Ryan! Next up...Stage Two.

In March 2023, Scott Cato travelled the country to present personalised ceremonies which were held in each Award winner's location.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate each winner's success.
