Yesterday we had the pleasure of touring one of our main suppliers Intelligro with Sam and Paul.

Intelligro supply our quality potting mix and some of our other nursery needs. They also sell many types of stone chips, soil mixes, mulch and compost commercially, and to the public.

Sam and Paul have a great passion for the product they supply. It was impressive seeing the R&D that goes into refining their the potting mix’s, soils and compost. What was also impressive was their commitment to testing each and every bash that goes out the door, so they can track what works well and what maybe doesn’t.

Cheers Intelligro.

🌱 Congratulations Jake Linklater – 2025 Young Horticulturist of the Year!

We're thrilled to celebrate Jake Linklater, nursery manager at Nova Natives - Plants with Purpose in Templeton, who took home the 2025 trophy at the Young Horticulturist Competition NZ Grand Final in Karaka. Jake also took home the Sector, Sustainability and Best Practice Awards – an outstanding achievement!

This marks the second consecutive year a plant producer has claimed the top honour, following Anna England's 2024 win. It's a brilliant testament to the calibre of talent in New Zealand's plant production sector.

"Plant producers are a small sector within New Zealand horticulture, but we offer particularly rewarding and challenging career pathways for young people," says NZPPI chief executive Matt Dolan. "Winning back-to-back trophies helps us highlight plant production careers to future leaders."
