Yet another amazing camp! SVA camp Picton was a big success. About two weeks ago we had our final camp for the year. The weather held out and we were met with the absolutely stunning environment that Picton holds alongside of the rest of the Marlborough region. As usual we had buckets of fun and were privileged to meet and help out some awesome people and organisations. Can’t wait for next years camp 😊

A massive thank you to everyone’s involvement in collecting can tabs for the Christchurch Kidney Society. It has been a huge success and we are grateful for everyone’s participation and the large amount we have to donate to them.

UC Emergency Management is partnering with the SVA to deliver ShakeOut, a national earthquake education campaign where people across the country practice Drop, Cover, Hold.

We’re looking for some student volunteers to give an hour of their day to help set up, promote earthquake information, and pack down.

We have a cool opportunity to mix tree planting with a research project!

This Sunday we have a tree planting event in Woodend. It starts at 8.45am, meeting outside of the UCSA. The planting is a part of a Master’s student investigation looking at experimental methods for improving plant survivability 🧪

Winning prizes from your can tabs? Starting today and running for 2 weeks until next Friday, we are running an exciting can tab collection scheme alongside Christchurch Kidney Society.

The Christchurch Kidney Society is a patient support group helping those with kidney disease and these can tabs will be donated to them to support their younger members with their education and hobbies.

Simply pop your can tabs (think energy drinks, coffee cans etc) into the box in the SVA office or in your residential hall’s box, send us a photo here on Instagram and you’re in the draw to win an awesome prize from one of our generous sponsors! There are also more prizes up for grabs for the winning hall who collects the most can tabs.

We can’t wait to see how many can tabs we can collect!
