We have 11 days to make submission on the HSNO Amendment Bill. Your submission can be very simple like -
- The parts of the Bill relating to new organisms/ GM organisms must be put on hold until Regulatory and Process objectives and rules have been disclosed to the public.
- The Select Committee must not allow amendments that will undermine democracy or will result in GE contamination undermining New Zealand's zero contamination status, GE-free reputation and future exports.
- I object to amendments that create unacceptable discretionary powers to exclude New Zealanders from notification and enable fast-tracked approvals for release of GE organisms.

Jed River Catchment Water Quality Presentation by John Preece Wednesday 10th June 7pm in the Anglican/St John Church, 28 Ward St, Cheviot (this is not a church event, they have generously lent us the space).
John has taken multiple water samples over the last year at various sites, funded through the Waitaha impact fund. John has summarized and analyzed the results and has put together a presentation. Everybody is welcome.
Jed River Catchment Project will have a meeting at 6pm to touch base, all welcome to join then also.

Last Saturday friends, volunteers and the committee of the JRCP went on an adventure for our Christmas Picnic/Party. We celebrated our achievements, enjoyed each other's company and planed for 2026! It was a beautiful day and we got to enjoy a lovely section of the Jed River that is not always accessible.
If you would like to be involved in 2026, comment or leave a pm and we will touch base.
Thank you so so much to everyone that supports JRCP and our 50 year vision!!
Meri Kirihimete Everyone!
