TWO DAYS. 11 SCHOOLS. ONE PURPOSE.
WHO WILL BE CROWNED THE CHAMPION THIS YEAR???
The 7th Annual Tamatea Primary School Kīorahi Tournament is almost here! 🔥
For 7 years, Kīorahi ki Tamatea has brought tamariki together through tākaro, whanaungatanga and Te Ao Māori. Creating a space where our tamariki can compete, connect, represent their kura and experience the game that belongs to us.
This year, 11 schools will take the Papa Tākaro at Russell Park, Waipukurau for two big days of Kīorahi action.
📅 Tuesday 22 September
👊 Year 5/6 Tournament
📅 Thursday 24 September
🔥 Year 7/8 Tournament
Expect big plays. Big energy. Big whānau support. And plenty of tamariki getting stuck into Kīorahi! 💪🏽
But this is bigger than the scoreboard.
It’s about keeping our Tākaro Māori alive, creating pathways for our tamariki, bringing our kura and communities together, and giving the next generation a chance to stand proudly in who they are.
🏆 Kīorahi ki Tamatea.
🌱 Growing the next generation through tākaro.
Bring your kura. Bring your whānau. Bring the noise.
