🧡 Volunteers have always been the heartbeat of Kids in Need and we wouldn't be here without them. This National Volunteer Week we want to thank all of the volunteers that give their time to support Kids in Need.

To our amazing shed volunteers who sort and pack with such care, sewers, knitters, volunteers who wash and mend clothing, event and corporate volunteers who bring their energy and skills, our Regional Coordinators who walk alongside families everyday, and our incredible board members who guide this organisation with such dedication - thank you!

And then there's Graeme and Linda - our founders, who started Kids in Need because they saw a need and decided to do something about it. They are still 100% volunteer.

We shared a mid-winter Christmas lunch with some of our volunteers and wider team today, a lovely afternoon of connection, reflection and great food (thanks Gourmet Delicious) 🫶

One Motion and Eventi are hosting an epic fun run with all proceeds coming to Kids in Need 💛 There will be something for everyone, so make sure you grab your tickets and mark it on your calendar!

📍Lake Te Koo Utu, Cambridge

🍵Coffee carts, sausage sizzle & food trucks on the day

Run it, walk it, bring the kids and the dog. Pick your route: an easy 2.8km lake loop, or 4km of hills and stairs for those looking for a challenge.

Beautiful care packs full of winter essentials are heading out the door every day thanks to our amazing supporters (a van load being delivered today!).

Last week we made our 10,000th care pack 💛

➡️ Check out the photos to get BTS on some of the first care packs sent out in 2018 and what it looked like when Linda and Graeme did it all from their living room.

🫶It’s hard to put into words what this milestone means.

10,000 personalised care packs delivered to tamariki and rangatahi in care across the region since 2018.

Behind every pack is a child who needed extra support and care.
And behind every pack is a community that stepped up to help make that happen.

To our volunteers, donors, grantors, businesses, schools, organisations and supporters - thank you. This milestone belongs to every single person who has helped us show up for children and caregivers over the years.

We wish the need wasn’t so great.
But while it exists, we’ll keep going - one child, one caregiver and one care pack at a time💛
