Kids in Need Waikato

Kids in Need Waikato Kids in Need is a registered charity and supplies personalised care packs for children in care and support for the caregiver.

Kids in need was founded by Linda Roil in 2017. Care packs consisting of
New underwear, pyjamas, socks, toys, toiletries
Second hand/new clothing, books, shoes
Are put together for children in care with anyone other than their own parents. A very high number of children are now being raised by grandparents or other family members. Last year we sent out 1243 care packs

We have been overwhelmed by the support of the community and couldn’t do what we do without that support. Check out Kids in Need Waikato on Facebook or on the web

🎯Big Day Out 2026

Last Saturday, 77 caregivers and tamariki spent the day at Finlay Park Adventure Camp. The Big Day Out has become a highlight of the Kids in Need calendar, and going by the smiles, the kids agree.

The day was all about making new friends, taking risks, building confidence and doing something completely different 💚

Thank you to the wonderful team at Finlay Park for supporting the day and making it extra special, including a river cruise for the caregivers.

We're grateful to SkyCity Hamilton Community Trust for making this event possible 🫶
