A few jars of liquid gold were distributed around Tepuia Heights this morning to recognize our neighborhood gardens pollen and nector contributing to the 2026 honey harvest.
Verdict is "Yumm!"

Harvest for 2026 is in the bucket!
Our first one at home, and a few lessons learned. We have almost 20kg yielded but left a lot on the frames as we didn't warm them enough to allow an easier extract.
But, the honey looks spectacular and tastes delicious!
Now we wait for the results of the tutin test before it goes onto some hot toast 😋

The escape boards are on and we are looking forward to extracting the first honey from Kingfisher Retreat tommorow.
And it was great to have Martin suit up to lend a hand today!

Back to the buzz of normal work life from holiday and getting ready to harvest the life's work of my bees.

In a world that moves fast and measures success in big numbers, take a moment to remember the tiny hero that keeps our planet alive.

A bee lives only around 40 days. In that short lifetime, it visits nearly 150,000 flowers and produces less than a single spoon of honey. For us, it’s just a drizzle on toast or in tea but to me it's a reminder to value the small things, respect nature, and appreciate the unseen hard work behind everything we enjoy.
