With Winter setting, opportunities to catch up social dwindle. We have had several inquiries about 'Hall Nations' starting back up.

For those new to the area or not sure what 'Hall Nations' is about it is the opportunity to meet up at the Barrytown Hall socially and have a catch up. We don't talk politics or mining. It is a safe place for all.
It's a bring your own drinks and nibbles and Select Catering do pizza's if you order in advance. The pool table has been uncovered so that will be in action - do I feel a pool challenge coming on?

We have found Fridays work best as people can stop in on their way home from work. We are looking at 5:30-8ish but open to other ideas.

We have a couple of dates in mind for the first one Friday 5th or Friday 12th? Let us know which one works best and we will make it happen.

Aotearoa's bluegrass explorers, You, Me, Everybody, bring their new album, Midnight to Barrytown!

Rooted in tradition but unafraid to innovate, the band blends virtuosic musicianship with gracious arrangements to create a progressive acoustic sound that reaches well beyond classic Americana. Their live shows offer plenty of toe-tapping energy, yet it’s their creative fearlessness, soaring dynamics and heartfelt storytelling that truly set them apart.

The band’s new album, Midnight—recorded in Wellington with Nashville-based producer Rachel Baiman and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Sean Sullivan—marks a bold evolution in their sound. Exploring the space between endings and beginnings, the record pairs emotional depth with dynamic, contemporary acoustic textures. With singles arriving throughout 2025, You, Me, Everybody now support the release of the album with a national tour of Aotearoa.

"This album moves & breathes in all the right places" - Jenny Mitchell

"Bluegrass can be exhilarating. It can also be rigidly predictable. On ‘Midnight,’ the Everybody’s go for the former with a lively mix of finely-tuned, unpredictable arrangements" - Cameron Bennett

From the hills of Whakatū Nelson to the rugged edge of the West Coast, psychedelic rock revivalists The Dorado Experiment return this Matariki for a two-stop coast tour set to shake Granity and Barrytown to their foundations.

Fresh from sold-out headline shows, festival appearances and the release of their debut live album project *Becoming A Man*, the band have built a reputation for immersive, high-voltage performances where groove-heavy rhythms, soaring guitar lines and cosmic improvisation collide. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Doors, The Dorado Experiment deliver a sound that feels both timeless and explosively alive.
West Coast audiences already know what’s coming...
Their previous appearance at The Lyric Theatre was described as a “landmark performance”, transforming Granity into a swirling, euphoric journey of extended jams, hypnotic grooves and raw rock’n’roll energy.

Now, under the rising stars of Matariki, The Dorado Experiment return for an even bigger Coast adventure, bringing their unmistakable blend of psychedelic rock, deep musical chemistry and electrifying live spectacle back to our doorstep.

Expect soaring vocals. Expect blistering guitar work. Expect moments that drift from intimate and haunting to full-throttle cosmic chaos. Most of all, expect a live experience built for those who still believe music should feel dangerous, transcendent and unforgettable.

Door sales $30
Starts at 8pm

NZ’s favourite progressive Bluegrass band, You, Me, Everybody. We start at bluegrass but weave in a bunch of other genres, basically exploring what the instruments from that genre can do when they're not confined to the simplicity of the rules of the original form. We're an acoustic band that features the best acoustic picking you will find in New Zealand. We do a pretty mean harmony as well.

Here’s a link to a video of us playing one of our originals, live at The Wellington Folk Festival. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6NUAIqViGU
