This is a safe, supportive space to listen, share and connect with others who understand. Come along for as much or as little as you're comfortable with.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 of school holidays nearly done, one to go… and the weather hasn't exactly been on our side 🌧️

We love them to bits, but by the end of it you'll have earned a night out. So we've got one lined up for you!

On 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, award-winning comedian Harriet Moir - Entertainer / MC is back at TPŌMA with her brand new show "Dear Stalker": an hour about the lengths she's gone to find love. Stalking, manifesting, the apps, one night stands, and more.

If you came to her last show, you'll know exactly what you're in for. (We're still laughing from her strolling down the aisle in nothing but an apron… very memorable 🍑😂)

She's a two-time Best Comedian winner at the Dunedin Comedy Awards, and the ODT says she "had the audience in the palm of her hand."

Round up the girls, book the babysitter now, and come have a proper laugh before school goes back 🥂

Tuesday evening at Balclutha Community Library, Milton local Shane shared the story behind his walk from Cape Reinga to Bluff to raise awareness and support for people living with the aftermath of su***de.

The idea began with a spark of inspiration at a conference, when he least expected it. Shane spoke honestly about the highs and lows of the journey, and how a clear purpose and the support of others kept him going when motivation wasn’t there.

What stayed with me most was what happened around the talk. People shared experiences of grief and loss, made connections and learned about support available in our community. It was a hopeful reminder of what can happen when we make room for these conversations.

If you can, come along to Shane’s next talk. There will be more guest speakers and a chance to hear about local support networks that aren’t always widely known.

I’d also love to help put together a running list of places people in our communities can turn to when things get hard. If you know of a local group or service, please share it below or send me a message. 💛
