CAPOEIRA ANGOLA BOOKS FUNDRAISER
Mestre Roxinho (Edielson Miranda) will be publishing his third book in 2026 and is inviting pre-sales as a fundraiser for the repair of the roof of the Bantu Cultural Institute (Instituto Cultural Bantu).
The book is *Learning through Ginga: Body, Memory, and Crossroads* (in English or Portuguese).
It's a work that "brings together Capoeira Angola, African ancestry, and community-based practices as foundations for an education of the body and resistance. Ginga is above all a principle, it is the synthesis of the African worldview present in the movement of the body."

All funds will go to the finish the work to repair of the roof of the Bantu Institute, on the island of Itaparica in Salvador, Brazil. The Bantu Institute is a centre that aims to empower children, young people and their families through socio-educational activities and the appreciation of African heritage, contributing to social transformation.
Mestre has also reprinted his original book *Capoeira Angola: Histórias, cantorias e versos* (in Portuguese only) which shares philosophy and history of the songs, ladainhas and corridos and their place in the Roda.
