Let’s celebrate Mercy Day! 💜

Today we join the global Mercy whānau in celebrating Mercy Day! A time to reflect on the legacy of Catherine McAuley and the values of compassion, respect, justice, hospitality, and service that continue to guide our mahi.

We asked our team what Mercy looks like in the work they do, which Mercy values connect most with them, and what they love about working alongside our whānau and community.

Their answers remind us that Mercy isn’t only something we celebrate once a year. It’s something we put into practice every day through the way we care, listen, and walk alongside others.

Every Wednesday for the past eight weeks, Whaea Sophie and Cass have been working alongside our wonderful Te Ara Tūrangawaewae wāhine, using art and Te Ao Māori as a way to explore belonging and identity. 🥰

Today marked the final session of the term, and we were joined by some very special guests — Sister Ann and Sister Katrina from St Joseph’s, along with our OM, Josie. 🙏🏾

A special acknowledgement to our wonderful wāhine for embracing this journey of self-discovery. Ngā mihi nui to Rānui Community Library for opening their space for us to run our programme, the Sisters of St Joseph’s for their ongoing support, and a very special thank you to Cass for all your wonderful mahi and support. 💜

Come and meet the candidates standing in the 2026 General Election, hear their priorities and take part in a community-focused Q&A.

We're offering Community Action Grants of up to $4,000 to support community-led projects in Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure.

We want to hear from grassroots groups and community collectives, registered or not.

Your idea could support:
- Youth programmes
- Sport and recreation
- Arts, storytelling, music and performance
- Wellbeing activities
- Environmental mahi
- Community events
- Digital media

Applications close 12pm, Friday 18 September 2026.
