Huapai–Kumeū Lions Vintage Shop is proud to support local community projects and people in need through every sale and donation. Pop in and discover a wonderful range of pre-loved treasures, vintage finds, and unique bargains.

We are always grateful for donations of quality items including:

Wow! Thanks to the locals who donated all these books to us. We didn’t see you drop them off, but thank you for doing so. We will be open till Thursday 9am- 3pm at 80 Main Rd, opposite the Access Rd traffic lights. Please donate books or come in and buy some at between $1 & $2 per book. All funds raised goes to making our communities stronger.

Award-winning local history book available at the 6-Day Book Fair
Where Have All the Apples Gone? by Chris Smellie will be available at the Huapai-Kumeū Lions 6-Day Book Fair, running Saturday 23 May to Thursday 28 May at 80 Main Road, Kumeū, by the Access Road lights.

This beautifully crafted book uncovers the orchard-rich roots of Huapai and Kumeū — once bursting with apples, pears, plums, and community pride.

What began as a record of Huapai’s fruit-growing heritage has grown into a fascinating look at New Zealand’s wider fruit and food-growing story — from the early days of the Fruitgrowers Federation to the growers who helped feed a nation.

All proceeds from book sales go straight back into local community projects — history that gives back.
